A partir del 25 de febrero de 2026, todos los viajeros con destino a Reino Unido deberán disponer de la Autorización Electrónica de Viaje (ETA) aprobada antes del embarque, incluso cuando no se requiera visado.

Alemania ha decidido extender durante seis meses adicionales los controles temporales en sus fronteras terrestres más allá del 15 de marzo, en el marco de la actual situación de seguridad. La notificación correspondiente está siendo remitida a la Comisión Europea.

La medida afecta a los pasos fronterizos con Francia, Luxemburgo, Bélgica, Países Bajos, Dinamarca, Austria, Suiza, Chequia y Polonia, lo que puede repercutir en los desplazamientos transfronterizos por carretera y ferrocarril.

Germany. Land border controls extended beyond 15 March

Germany has decided to extend temporary controls at its land borders for a further six months beyond 15 March, in light of the current security situation. The relevant notification is being sent to the European Commission.

The measure affects border crossings with France, Luxembourg, Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, Austria, Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Poland, which may have an impact on cross-border travel by road and rail.

In the air transport sector, major border cities and international hubs could see an increase in document checks for travellers entering the country after crossing a land border. The extended controls may cause delays in road transport, especially in regular business and logistics transit corridors. In international rail transport, there could be occasional delays in high-speed and long-distance services connecting Germany with Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Vienna, Zurich, Prague and Warsaw due to border inspections. No suspension of services has been announced, but an increase in journey times on certain routes is to be expected.

Las autoridades de China han confirmado que, a partir del 17 de febrero, los titulares de pasaportes ordinarios de Canadá y del Reino Unido podrán permanecer en el país hasta 30 días sin necesidad de visado. La medida estará en vigor hasta el 31 de diciembre de 2026.

Con la incorporación de estos dos países, ascienden a 47 los Estados y territorios cuyos ciudadanos pueden beneficiarse de esta exención temporal de visado para estancias de hasta 30 días. Entre ellos figuran Alemania, Australia, Austria, Bélgica, Brasil, Chile, Corea del Sur, España, Francia, Italia, Japón, Países Bajos, Portugal y Suiza, entre otros.

La decisión facilita la entrada en China para viajes de negocios, turismo o tránsito de corta duración, lo que puede favorecer el incremento de desplazamientos hacia los principales centros económicos del país, como Pekín (PEK) y Shanghái (PVG), así como hacia otros hubs internacionales como Cantón (CAN), Shenzhen (SZX) o Chengdu (CTU).

En Pekín, el aeropuerto internacional de Pekín Capital (PEK) y el aeropuerto internacional de Pekín-Daxing (PKX) concentran buena parte de las conexiones intercontinentales. En Shanghái, el aeropuerto internacional de Pudong (PVG) y el aeropuerto internacional de Hongqiao (SHA) canalizan tanto tráfico internacional como doméstico. La medida no implica cambios operativos en aeropuertos ni en las conexiones ferroviarias de alta velocidad. Sin embargo, la previsión de un mayor volumen de viajeros podría generar picos de demanda en determinados periodos, especialmente en rutas directas entre China y Canadá o Reino Unido.

La exención se aplica exclusivamente a titulares de pasaportes ordinarios de Canadá y del Reino Unido que viajen a China por un máximo de 30 días y dentro del periodo establecido. China. 30-day visa exemption for Canada and the United Kingdom from 17 February

The Chinese authorities have confirmed that, from 17 February, holders of ordinary passports from Canada and the United Kingdom will be able to stay in the country for up to 30 days without a visa. The measure will remain in force until 31 December 2026.

With the addition of these two countries, there are now 47 states and territories whose citizens can benefit from this temporary visa exemption for stays of up to 30 days. These include Germany, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, South Korea, Spain, France, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Portugal and Switzerland, among others.
